A&P Development and Construction mta bus operations project
This project consisted of installing three major structural canopies
sequentially as to not impact the existing bus facility, A&P continued
to work in adverse conditions and keep the project on track. Structural
changes were directed requiring installation of structural caissons well
in to the water table. A&P operated in very tight conditions to deliver
the project with minimal impact to the project cost while completing the
project within the original contract schedule. Teaming with the MTA they
furnished hazardous material handlers to assist on the site during excavation.
Vacuum trucks were provided by the MTA to remove the water during caissons
drilling prior to having our crews pour the structural caissons. This
dramatically reduced the cost to the MTA while executing major contract
changes.
Fully furnished double decker offices were installed in the mechanics
bay areas with temporary facilities supplied to help facilitate the move.
Modified supply and exhaust systems were installed with booster fans to
help pull outside air into the modular offices along with the extension
of the existing CNG detection system in to the new office area. With the
help and assistants of Robnett Electric we were able to make modifications
to the existing CNG detection and electrical systems successfully without
availability of as built drawings.
A&P is pleased to have the opportunity to work with MTA, and looks
forward to creating more successful projects in the future.
